| About Me |
Andrew is a struggling college student teetering on the precipice of the “real world”. Though not nearly as fanatical about gaming as his contemporaries, he occasionally dabbles in first person shooters and adventure games. Throughout his youth he stuck primarily with computers, having grown up in the golden era of point-and-click LucasArts Adventure Games.
Beginning with “Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis”, he was raised to believe that the foundation of a good game is composed of a strong plot and detailed back-story, interwoven with witty and humorous dialogue. Like an intense orgasm, a good game will leave the player overwhelmed with emotion and a strong feeling of accomplishment, yet ultimately fulfilled and excited to experience it all over again.
Upon completion of “Half-Life 2”, he took on Valve’s philosophy that character development should be promulgated through plot exploration and imagination, noting that it is the player’s responsibility to discover relevant details and not have them merely presented or explained in a linear fashion, as if reading an instruction manual.
Of course, he acknowledges that there is a certain visceral pleasure in blowing shit up and decapitating zombies and has begun exploring the seventh generation console genre, having recently purchased a Wii and Xbox 360. |
